We are a
network of independent in-home professional petsitters
who provide services throughout Hillsborough county and
portions of Pasco and Pinellas counties. We formed this
group in 2001 to help pet owners find a professional pet
sitter in their area. We help each other by sharing
ideas, experiences and answers. We also participate in
community activities such as Humane Society of Tampa
Bay's Annual Bark in the Park.

| Each professional
pet sitter is an independent entity and as such, provides
different services and has their own rate structure. They
also provide care for a wide variety of pets from
domestic companion animals to exotics and reptiles. No
one will provide service for aggressive animals. Some
are available for overnight stays and some can provide
injections or assistance with training techniques. |

| You should consider
calling more than one professional pet sitter when
seeking services. This will give you an idea of available
services and rates charged. Most professional pet sitters
charge on a per visit basis, while others may have
multiple daily visit discounts or long-term engagement
discounts. You should also consider interviewing more
than one professional pet sitter when seeking care for
your pets. Some professional pet sitters may care for a
specific type of pet, such as 'cats only.' Be sure to let
them know the type of pet(s) you have prior to scheduling
an interview. |

A licensed
professional pet sitter has an occupational license from
the county and/or city in which he or she operates. To
date, pet sitting is not a regulated, state-licensed
industry. The decision to carry insurance and/or a bond
is left to the individual pet sitting company. As we are
not a policing agency, we cannot enforce any adherence to
a standard. However, most professional pet sitters belong
to NAPPS (National
Association of Professional Pet Sitters) and/or PSI (Pet Sitters International) which do maintain recommended standards of
excellence.
